Sighten is pleased to announce that, from June 8th 2017its 2.2 release, utility and rate selection on Sighten's site page will can run off of Sighten's integration with Genability if that feature is turned on in your account. Genability is widely recognized as the leading utility rates engine, capturing all utility rates in the US with every rate component, tariff eligibility rule and rate option. Fifteen thousand updates are made every month to Genability's rate books, keeping them always up-to-date. More about Genability here.
The launch of the Genability integration this new feature also comes with exciting new features and a few changes to the UItweaks, so let's look at those changes in details.
When will I have access to the new feature?
The new feature will be by default turned off for our users after the 2.2 release. We will be turning it on for a group of beta users until the public release. To become a beta user, please send us an email at support@sighten.io.

The coverage is not only full, it is accurate and up-to-date and models every rate component, tariff eligibility rule and rate option. Genability follows every tariff change and updates its database in 1 business day, that which makes up for 15,000+ rate updates every month.

Yes. We took the opportunity of this integration to simplify the utility tile in the UI. Where there used to be four dropdowns - Electric Utility, Utility Territory, Utility Rate Schedule and Heating Source -, there are now only two dropdowns: Electric Utility and Utility Rate Schedule. This makes finding the appropriate utility and rate schedule much easier and intuitive for Sighten users. See the difference below.

Will utility and rate defaults change?
Yes, and for the better! Whenever you create a site at an address, Sighten will now select by default the most likely utility and rate schedule for that particular location. More, utilities and rates schedules will now be ranked by order of likelihood for that location.
Can I use it with my existing sites?
Unfortunately no. Sites create before June 8th 2017 Sighten's 2.2 release will continue to operate on Sighten's previous current utility rates database. They will continue to show the former current UI and rate coverage. All newly created sites after June 8th 2017 will sites created after the 2.2 release will work with the new functionality.
