You can use the project phase to add a solar project, inverter, battery, or energy efficiency. This page contains Sighten's solar design tool, automated shading analysis for qualifying addresses, and charts to show offset and usage estimates.
Solar
To add a solar project, select an input mode:
- kWh allows you to input system capacity and production.
- Equipment allows you to enter panel number, inverter count, and select equipment types.
- RSD allows you to draw the system and select equipment.
With RSD input, draw the system outline, fill the array input forms, and select equipment. More on inputs and selection here:
- Array input forms include azimuth (automatically selected from the drawing and can be overridden), tilt, and shading.
- You can optionally include row spacing, # of rows, or an orientation preference.
- Change alignment to have the panels fit to a grid or offset pattern.
- You can add a new array using the + Array option.
- You can add an additional inverter to an array using the + Inverter option. You can also use the Inverter section to add an inverter.
Using the sidebar to the right of the input form, you can take additional actions for the open array:
- Move array by clicking and dragging.
- Add panels where there is additional room.
- Remove panels that are unneeded or placed over an obstruction. You can also adjust the array outline to reduce or increase the number of panels placed.
- Setbacks can be added to maintain a set distance from the roof edges, either uniformly or editable for each edge.
- Keepouts can be added to specify areas of the roof that have obstructions. You can also delete panels.
- Image allows you to capture an image that will be used in the proposal. You can resize, zoom, or move the image capture window to get the desired result.
Once inputs are complete, click Calculate to get system production information and save array inputs.
