To add storage, use the storage section to select a battery model and count. Then click Calculate. The batteries available for selection is based on the equipment added in your account settings. This is also where battery unit costs can be saved for use in quotes.
Adding AC vs DC Batteries
AC batteries do not require inverter selection; DC batteries do require inverter selection. Inverters can be added via the solar project or directly with the DC battery. The project inverters section on the left will display a summary of all inverter connections.
Adding or removing Batteries
You can increase or decrease the battery count using the Count dropdown, then click Calculate to save changes. For example, if you added a third battery but after review, found that two batteries was a better fit to the consumption needs, you could decrease the count from 3 to 2 using the dropdown then click Calculate.
You can add batteries using the New Battery option in green on the right. You can delete batteries using the trash can icon to the right of the battery name. The trash icon will delete all models and units associated with the battery project you are deleting.

Use the Daily Energy Profile to see how the added battery affects the usage needs. Open this chart by clicking the + sign on the shading image on the lower right, then selecting Daily Energy Profile (selection shown above).
Storage Sizing
When sizing solar+storage, all these factors are important:
- Consumption / usage profile. You establish the consumption and usage profile in the Usage section.
- Solar production. The solar system you design establishes the solar production, including each array's orientation, equipment selected, and number of panels.
- Storage charge/discharge behavior. The battery model and count you add combined with the consumption profile and the solar production profile will dictate when the battery will charge and discharge.
You can use the Daily Energy Profile to see battery charge and discharge behavior given the consumption and solar production. The battery will charge when there is excess solar production above the consumption needs. The battery will discharge when there is consumption that exceeds that solar production.
