We receive requests for an alternative sattelite image source for roofs to be utilized on the Project phase. Here's an update on an exciting new feature that you can expect for Q3.
Where do we get satellite imagery available on Sighten?
At the moment, Google Maps provides us with Satellite imagery. At times, what is displayed on Sighten may not be similar to what Google Maps has on their application. This is because Google Maps makes use of imagery from various sources, and what is allowed to be shared on our platform is limited to imagery that Google has the right to re-distribute.
Is it possible to upload my own roof image or use another map source?
It is not yet possible to use your own image or an alternative image aside from what is available on our platform.
However, we are working on making this a possibility, and are now exploring other map services. We are now beggining design on integrating EagleView as a top priority. This is projected to be launched for Q3.
