To add storage, use a battery to a project, open the storage section to select a battery model and count. You can delete batteries using the trash can icon or or add batteries using the New Battery option. . Then click Calculate.
The battery models available are based on the equipment activated in your account settings. This is also where you can save battery cost info to quickly calculate quotes.
Adding AC vs DC Batteries
AC batteries do not require inverter selection. ; DC batteries do require inverter selection. Inverters can be added in via the solar project section or independently in the inverter section.
Use the Daily Energy Profile to see how the added battery affects the usage needs. Open this chart by clicking the + sign on the shading image on the lower right, then selecting Daily Energy Profile.
or directly with the DC battery. The project inverters section on the left will display a summary of all inverter connections.
Adding or Removing Batteries
You can increase or decrease the battery count using the Count dropdown, then click Calculate to save changes. For example, if you added a third battery but after review, found that two batteries was a better fit to the consumption needs, you could decrease the count from 3 to 2 using the dropdown then click Calculate.
You can add batteries using the New Battery option in green on the right. You can delete batteries using the trash can icon to the right of the battery name. The trash icon will delete all models and units associated with the battery project you are deleting.
Selecting Backup Capability
With the launch of our non-backup financing option with storage, PowerShift, currently available only in California, we added an "Include Backup Capability" toggle to the Storage section of the Project phase. This toggle will determine which financial products can be selected in the quote phase. For the PV Self Consumption and Advanced TOU battery purposes, the toggle will default to ON to include backup capabilities. To quote a PowerShift job, toggle this to OFF to display the PowerShift non-backup financing option in the Quote phase (where available). The Backup Power Only battery purpose will default the toggle to ON and be disabled so that it cannot be updated.
If you want to quote both a PowerShift product and an EverOwn Plus or EverFixed Plus, you will need to duplicate the project and update the toggle to include backup capabilities for the Plus products, then create separate proposals for the PowerShift and EverOwn Plus/EverFixed Plus projects.
