Click on the ticket to open it
Make sure your name is entered as assignee
Review the customer information tab in the middle pane of your ticket
Make sure “organizations’ is filled with the name of the requesting organization
If not, add the correct organization name
Then navigate to the “General” tab and review the ticket description to see what’s needed.
Job name and address included
The installer will often include special instructions
In the case below, this site is a new build and they’ve indicated that they’ve included some attachments
In the Engine environment, log in to the appropriate organization as EverBright Admin
Navigate to the job by:
Searching the pipeline with homeowner name or address or
by clicking “Go to Job” from within the Jira ticket
Complete the requested work
Click the shopping cart icon to the right side of the page – this will pull up information you’ll need to complete the job including the requestor’s preferences, settings and any special instructions.
b. Click on “View Requirements”, this will open the Design Desk Request in a new tab. Read it from beginning to end!
c. You will design your project according to these specifications. Feel free to create several design options (several projects in the design phase) for the requestor to select. This is particularly useful if the site criteria lends itself to a few different design options.
Note: Pay careful attention to what is noted here – for example, many installers only want the design phase completed. Others may specify that you should update the usage information (utility bills/usage info should have been included in the request), quotes, proposals, etc.
d. After you are finished with your design, you should check each of the boxes to quality check that all specifications have been met. Also leave any relevant notes – these will be visible to others so be professional and clear in your remarks
7. Navigate back to Jira and update the ticket. Add an “internal comment” with any one of the following
Specify what additional information you need (from the customer or from management) before you can proceed with the work
Anything notable about your design(s)
Anything you think if relevant to the QA team to know
8. If your design is complete according to the specifications ordered by the customer, then change the workflow to “Design Complete - Design QA” status
The QA team (David Ellis) will review, and either approve the job and communicate with the customer or
Send the job back to you for revisions – noted in the workflow status
Note: Only the QA team or your management will communicate directly with customers – your role is to provide accurate and timely designs – and keep your Jira tickets updated.
