Background: EverBright launched some new fraud protection measures in August to reduce use of invalid or fake email addresses in the contact and qualification phases of the platform.
Support may get tickets from installers who get certain errors or in platform messages related to these protections, if they enter a ‘bad’ email address.
Protections at Contact and Qualification (Soft Credit App) phases:
EverBright blocks emails from certain domains known to be invalid.
If a user enters an invalid email, an error message will appear, as shown below
Clear instructions alert the user to which email is causing the error and provides guidance.
Note: Null values are ok in the contact phase; installers may leave it blank until the qual phase, however we recommend correct and complete contact information is entered from the start
2.) EverBright also blocks emails that are found in our backend, elsewhere in the platform
A non-specific error will appear, as shown below.
These errors indicate that an email was used that already exists in our platform
Users should be instructed to use an email unique to the applicant and the job
3.) Coming soon: When homeowner launches the contract to sign it, they will be asked identify verification questions. These questions are things the average person easily knows about themselves, however are not common knowledge and generally difficult to ‘fake.'
