Invalidation Overview
Invalidation is the term Sighten uses when there are changes to the inputs that will impact quote and savings values. Invalidation happens after changes are made to the customer's utility profile or system design. After modifications have been made, Sighten recalculates all impacted quotes and updates relevant information that appears on proposals and documents.
Invalidation Triggers
Invalidation can happen at multiple points when revising a customer's utility information or modifying a system. The process for invalidation differs slightly between utility and system updates. The triggers for invalidation are:
Utility Invalidation Triggers
- Changes to the utility company, territory or rate. This includes changes to a custom average rate.
- Changes to the proposed rate schedule
- Changes to a customer usage profile
System Invalidation Triggers
- Changes to an array. This includes changes to the azimuth, tilt, solar access, module and inverter type and panel deletion.
- Deleting an array
- Adding an array
Invalidation Results
After invalidation has happened, you will see the changes reflected in the quote page, proposals that have not been previously downloaded and any newly generated documents. The changes you see are dependent on the changes you make.
Changes made to the utilities will update the estimated savings values and information referencing utilities on the proposal or contract. Further, if you change utility companies, the incentives applied to the quote can change if either utility has an incentive attached to it.
Changes made to the system will update the install cost and estimated savings values displayed on the quote page. Additionally, any information that references the system will update on proposals that have not yet been downloaded or and newly generated documents.
Pro-Tip
To view the full impact of the changes made to the utility or system on the quote page, be sure to refresh the page. After refreshing, you will see the quote values update.
