If you’re curious about the extent to which your solar project is going to positively impact the environment, we make it easy to visualize within your proposal. We measure environmental impact of converting to solar across three comparison points: Co2 per ton of coal, miles driven by car, and forest acres. This can be found on the Environmental Impact page on Proposal templates. Here’s how it looks:

How is this calculated?

If you’re curious on how we come up with these values, you’ve come to the right place.

Our calculations are based on this calculator. Our formula basically inputs the kilowatt-hours of electricity to calculate other equivalent metrics. The timeline for the environmental impact is the contract term for TPO products. For non-TPO products, we use 30 years as a default.

You can find out more about this here.

We hope you find this helpful! Should you have more questions, feel free to send an email to support@sighten.io
