Previously, users can manually set the azimuth and tilt, then choose a side. We usually encourage to use a south-facing roof, but this won't always be the best side for various reasons: including lower roof pitches, or a more shaded south-facing roof. 

The great news is, we now use shading data to automatically optimize tilts and azimuths on arrays to maximize solar generation. This makes designing a project easier for users.

How does it work?

Once you add an array, the optimal azimuth and tilt will automatically be set and locked when the toggles are turned on. The best side will also be chosen as you see on the screenshot below:


The side, azimuth, and tilt fields will be locked out unless the toggles are turned off.
