What are medical baselines?

Medical Baseline Allowance is an assistance program for residential customers who depend on power for certain medical and independent living needs. If a customer has a medical baseline allowance, they receive allotments of energy provided at the most affordable rate.

Where are medical baselines available?

Medical baselines are available in the following California utilities:

  • Pacific Gas & Electric, PG&E

  • San Diego Gas & Electric, SDGE

  • Southern California Edison, SCE

How do I add a medical baseline to a job?

  • Create the job as usual from the Address Phase

  • When you get to the Usage Phase, select the Utility and the Rates that apply to the customer

  • If the homeowner is a customer of PG&E, SDGE, or SCE, you will see “Is the Customer Eligible for Medical Baselines?” underneath the historical usage section.

  • Toggle this section “on”

  • Then enter the number of blocks attributed to the homeowner for medical devices (1, 2, 3, etc).

  • Within a block, a customer receives 16.438 kwh per day of electricity at the most affordable rate.

  • Select Apply changes to apply this to the customer’s usage.
