HD Imagery: Nearmap

Nearmap provides high resolution aerial imagery that can allow our Install Partners to not have to get up on the roof to take measurements in many cases and take few measurements in other cases. Nearmap flies over 1,740 urban and surrounding areas. Their high resolution vertical aerial imagery offers 4.4 - 7 cm resolution. It covered 87% of the U.S. population in the last 12 months and 70% of U.S. population was covered in the last 6 months. Nearmap provides both orthoimagery and oblique views, however in our platform we will only support orthoimagery (vertical aerial imagery). Along with their imagery, Nearmap also provides a Digital Surface Model (DSM). Using this DSM, EverBright can determine the Solar Access Values (SAV) for a location and thus it is able to produce the shade study needed to determine the PV system production.

Depending on the region, Nearmap captures vertical aerial imagery anywhere from 1 to 3 times a year, with imagery dating back to 2014. Here is a coverage map for Nearmap.
