How do I upload an image to use in my project design?
EverBright now supports uploading a custom image for your system designs! This feature enables sales reps and designers to design solar systems without being limited to using imagery that is available on the platform. This is especially helpful for newly constructed houses that don't have a satellite image on Google Maps' API.
How does it work?
Begin by navigating to the project phase, you'll find a dropdown menu on the top left corner of the satellite image where Google Maps is selected by default. If you click on the dropdown, you'll see all other options. Select Image Upload to proceed. A file upload pop-up window will open, where you can select any jpeg and png files. You can use your own custom imagery, or you may be able to find a rooftop image of the address from Bing.com/maps
Once you've selected a file to upload, the image will then appear on the screen.
Do not click Confirm unless the image upload is in place and adjusted accordingly.
It's important to note that once you click Confirm, you will no longer be able to adjust (rotate, resize, move, or remove) the image. To upload the image or make new adjustments after the Confirm button is clicked, one would have to archive the job and recreate it. If you duplicate a project with an uploaded image, the uploaded image will carry through to the new project.
You can now move, resize, rotate, and adjust the opacity of the uploaded image.
Resizing the image
Width + Height Ratio. To resize the image, simply grab the corners of the uploaded image and drag. In the above white inset, there's a lock icon beside Width + Height Ratio. This is enabled by default and will force the uploaded image to maintain the same proportions. If you disable the lock, then you can drag the corners freely without maintaining the width and height ratio of the image.
Rotating and repositioning the image
By clicking and dragging the image, you can move it anywhere on top of the background map. Moreover, the EverBright design tool always shows South as the bottom of the view. If your image does not align with our north/south convention, then you can easily rotate the image to ensure it is correct.
Changing the opacity
Once the image uploaded is positioned where you need it to be, know that you can also adjust the opacity. This allows you to see the map behind the image, and identify like characteristic to ensure the image is uploaded on in the correct location.
Save changes
Once everything is set, you can click Confirm and create your solar design. Otherwise, you may click Cancel and choose to upload another image. Once you hit save, if you want to make any of the changes outlined above, you will need to upload a new image.
