Accents/Hyphens in Names

Accents/Hyphens in Names

Background: Spanish accent marks are called diacritics, come in three different categories: the diaeresis (ü), the tilde (ñ), and the acute accent (é, á, í, ó, and ú). There is a limitation of the Credit/Title integration: accents. The FNI integration cannot take accents in the name or address fields (neither can the credit bureaus).

The credit application has validation to prevent any applications that contain accents and/or hyphens in the name or address field from being submitted. If a customer is unable to complete an application because of an accent and/or hyphen in the name or address, please have them remove the accent and/or hyphen and use the corresponding letter without the accent and the name without the hyphen. The application should then process correctly.
