California - (Change Orders (HCO/NCCO/ICO) - HIS rejections

There may be cases where a Sales Representative contacts us, stating that a task in Engine was rejected due to an issue with their HIS number.

Usually, the Sales Rep will mention that the HIS number has been updated or is correct. In these situations, agents typically check the number to verify if it is active.

The issue, however, is that at least for California, we need to confirm not only that the HIS status is active but also additional important points:

If by checking the HIS number within the CSLB portal you encounter the following status under the “Employment Information” The task will be rejected and it cannot proceed

If after verifying all this information, everything is correct and matches you must advice the Sales Rep to send the Milestone back again for approval

Processing a Connecticut (CT) HIS Entry Ticket

In Connecticut, we are required to have our own Home Improvement Contractor’s License, and this license must be connected to our Sales Reps HIS License. As a result, a new form has been created so that we can request this HIS License to be added from there instead of making changes anywhere else.

ONLY Agents are allowed to access this platform to submit a new HIS request.

Sales Representative or Installers CANNOT add themselves via this CT Portal

If the MD HIS license is found, this means the license number is “active” as the search does not show inactive licenses

  • Confirm the name on the license matches the salesperson’s name on contract

  • Confirm the “Reg. #” matches the license number on contract

  • There may be multiple companies the salesperson is affiliated with

If the MD HIS license is not found, the next page will state “No names were found matching your entry” and the NCCO task will need to be rejected and the installer will need to update the salesperson on the contract to a salesperson with a valid MD HIS license
