Default Solar Access Value (SAV) Change

Default Solar Access Value (SAV) Change

Background: A solar energy system's monthly solar access values can be entered for each array in order to more accurately account for a system's average shading over the course of each month.

When we don't have shading information available from Google HD or Nearmap for a given address, we use a default Solar Access Value (SAV).

This SAV value was recently changed from 95% to 85%

FAQ:

Why the default Solar Access Value changed?

  • This value was recently changed from 95% to 85% to provide more conservative production estimates and reduce the number of Change Orders needed , because of lower estimated annual production after a shade report is provided
