In-Proposal Design Editing
Background: The full launch of the in-proposal design will be available to all organizations on March 6th.
Some requirements have to be met for the rep/installer to be able to edit the project design in the proposal phase:
The rep/installer has to be sure that an RSD input mode design has been created in the Everbright platform in the project phase.
An RSD input mode design consists of an image of the roof and panels that have been added to the roof.
A quote has been made using this RSD input mode design.
A new Everbright proposal has been generated using the quote and RSD input mode design.
The rep/installer must have permission to edit the proposal.
The project is not associated with a signed contract.
Once a project is associated with a signed contract, the rep/installer will not be able to edit the project in the proposal.
The proposal template must have the System Overview widget.
The installer can only edit one project per proposal.
Access to the In-Proposal Design Editing
If an installer is stating that they are unable to view or use the Proposal Phase, the agent would need to check their permissions.
There must be a project that has been created in the Project Phase
Log into Engine
Log in as the specific org the installer is working with.
Click the Settings wheel.
Click the Proposal Phase
Click the ‘Defaults’ option to see if the ‘Project Editing’ option is on or off.
If the ‘Project Editing’ is turned Off, refer the installer to their org admin.
If the org admin is making the request to have the ‘Project Editing’ turned on:
Click the ‘Edit’ button and toggle the ‘Project Editing' to On.
In-Proposal Design (editable view)
The installer has to use the Dynamic Proposal template. In the System Overview section, there is an ‘Edit Project’ button.
The edit view is pulled directly from the Project Phase.
It has been designed to work on cell phones and tablets.
Clicking ‘Select’ will allow the installer to change the panels by clicking on a panel, dragging and highlighting multiple panels, rotating panels, deleting panels, moving panels, etc.
If the panel(s) turn red, that is an invalid panel location. The panels cannot be placed:
Off the roof
Over keep outs.
Over setbacks
Outside of the design area
The installer can click ‘Add’ which allows them to choose a portrait or landscape panel layout.
This will display a gray shadow panel and the installer can determine where they would like to place the panel.
The installer can then click and drag shadow panels to add as many panels as they would like.
If the installer makes a mistake or wants to remove a shadow panel, they will click ‘Undo.’ This will remove the last change they made.
Clicking ‘Revert’ will undo all the changes that were made and take the installer back to the very beginning where they would have to start over.
The installer must verify that they would like to revert their changes.
The installer also has the option of clicking ‘Cancel’ and all of their changes will not save.
The details of the design will change as the installer makes adjustments to the panels.
The installer as well as the homeowner will have access to education cards by clicking on the system information boxes.
Project details are available by clicking the ‘Home’ (house) button in the bottom right corner.
The zoom buttons (+,-) in the bottom right corner allow the installer to zoom in and out with ease.
Once the homeowner and installer agree on a design, the installer will click ‘Update Proposal’ to save the design.
The installer will need to confirm the changes.
This will send the design back into the Project Phase and update the calculations.
The offset will be updated.
The quote will be updated.
In-Proposal View Only Feature (non-editing)
The homeowner will have access to a new view of their project design with educational content and definitions to make it easier to understand.
The view only version of the design is available for the below users:
Any non-authenticated user
Any authenticated user that does not have access to edit the proposal.
Any authenticated user after the associated contract has been signed.
To access the project design in the proposal, open the EverBright proposal and navigate to the System Overview section of the proposal and select ‘View Project Details’.
Selecting ‘View Project Details’ will open a new view of the project design and allow the user to pan, zoom in and out on the design. You can zoom in and out using a mouse scroll, pinch and zoom on mobile or by using the ‘+’ and ‘-’ buttons in the bottom right of the screen.
This view also displays additional details about the project on detail cards. Hovering over the detail cards will display educational content about each of the details.
At the bottom right of the view, there is an additional project detail pop-up that contains additional information about the project including annual usage, panel and battery information depending on what is included in the project.
To return to the proposal, select the ‘Close’ button in the top right corner.
In-Proposal Design FAQs
Question | Answer |
---|---|
What can people edit about the project in the proposal? | They can add, remove, move, and rotate panels. The equipment, available roof segments, obstructions, and setbacks cannot be edited in the proposal. To edit these, return to the Project phase or follow your organization’s processes for project design changes. |
Can I grant editing access to specific team members? | The In-Proposal Design access is set at the organization level. You cannot currently give or block access at the individual level. |
Will changes in the proposal override the design in the Project phase? | Yes, changes made through In-Proposal Design will update the project design in the Project phase. |
Can I undo any changes after I select to update the proposal? | You can undo any changes while editing, but once you select to update the proposal, the changes will be saved. You can re-open the project in the proposal and update the project again, but you will not be able to use the ‘undo’ or ‘revert’ button to return to the original design. |
Can people edit a project in the proposal after the contract is signed? | No, they cannot. Once a contract is signed for a quote in the proposal, the system design can no longer be edited in the proposal. The system design can be edited in the Project Phase after the contract has been signed. |
Can I turn off Project phase editing access but still allow In-Proposal Design editing? | Yes! The permissions for In-Proposal Design editing work with the proposal phase access. You can limit Project phase access but still enable the limited editing available with In-Proposal Design. |
Can I change the equipment? | No, you cannot change the equipment through In-Proposal Design Editing. |
Can I add a battery? | No, you cannot add a battery through In-Proposal Design Editing. |

The changes I made to the design caused an invalid quote. How do I fix this? | You will need to return to the EverBright platform to create a new quote if the intended design no longer qualifies for the quotes on the proposal. |
